Season Two of Local Knowledge is off and running and Episode 2, Dakus Bones, explores both an amazing new art form and some mixed-bag, reef fishing in Key West, Florida.

Ali and Rush connected with “bone artist” Dave Kustra of Dakus Bones in order to commission a skeletal head mount for Ali’s big swordfish from last season. Driven by curiosity to learn more about the process, the crew invited Dave down to fish with them in the Keys on Rush’s Andros 32′.

Dave is full of knowledge about the subtle anatomy of so many gamefish and shares some of the unique features about the skull of the barracuda that they catch. The story weaves back and forth between reef fishing and Dave’s unique skill set and they finish up with an encounter with a giant.
