Ali and Rush hitch up the ABTrailer carrying the new Andros Boatworks 32 to make the haul down to Baja, Mexico to meet with up with their old friend Julio Meza, and fish the diverse Sea of Cortez & Isla Encantada. With a mothership close behind, the guys will work up and down the coast, seeking some of Baja’s prized species.
“Towing a boat through Baja is a true test on equipment and not to be taken lightly”, said Ali Hussainy of Local Knowledge. “That is why we built a trailer from ABTrailers in San Bernadino. They build the best and that is what we need when exploring remote locations”.
Plugging the rugged shoreline with Nomad lures, the boys went in search of “cabrilla” or leopard grouper.
“It really was some incredible fishing and it is a rare treat to have a great fishery all to yourself”, said Capt. Rush Maltz. “The whole trip was epic on every level.”
This trip is too good for just one episode, so Islas Encantadas will be split across two episodes, the first will air on Discovery Channel on Sunday, August 5th and 12 at 8 AM. Don’t miss this incredible next installment of Local Knowledge.
